How to get the map in Silksong
Silksong does not hand you a map. You buy each region from Shakra the cartographer, and the map only draws itself when you rest at a bench with the Quill in your bag.
Full guide with Rosary prices- Find Shakra in The Marrow. Leave Bone Bottom heading east and follow the singing. Buy the Mosslands Map (40 Rosaries) and The Marrow Map (50).
- Buy the Quill (50 Rosaries). Without it, nothing you explore gets drawn. Rest at any bench to update the map.
- Buy the Compass (70 Rosaries). Equip it in a tool slot to see Hornet's position. Add the Bench Pin so benches auto-mark.
- Repeat in every region. Shakra camps one area ahead of you. Inside the Citadel, map machines replace her. Missed one? Ring the Bone Bottom bell and she comes back.
Act 1 area order
The critical path from Moss Grotto to the Last Judge. Every area links to its own page with benches, bosses and exits.
Moss Grotto
Lush green starter cave of moss and clear water pools where Hornet wakes after the coach crash. Low-threat tutorial zone all game long.
Bone Bottom
Small pilgrim town of tents and bone chunks; the Act 1 hub, home of the Wishwall and a Bellway station.
The Marrow
Crumbling fossil-bone roads built on the shells of ancient bugs, the foundation all Pharloom rests on. Where you first meet Shakra and free the Bell Beast.
Deep Docks
A heavily industrialised forge built atop and within a lake of lava, with suspended platforms and burning Flintstone hazards.
Far Fields
Wide grassy caverns threaded with wind updrafts over lava pools, home to Pilgrim's Rest. The region visibly grows on the world map as you explore it.
Greymoor
Gloomy, permanently rain-soaked moor of ruined silk-dreg mills, now walked by haunted workers. Contains Halfway Home and Craw Lake.
Bellhart
A town built inside a bellvein, where giant bells have been hollowed into homes. Starts as Haunted Bellhart; beating Widow restores it into a hub.
Shellwood
Subterranean forest of tangled roads choked beneath bramble and root, with the shallow Shellwood Pond and a vertical, platform-heavy eastern half.
Blasted Steps
Storm-blasted ruined desert on Pharloom's western edge - vast caves climbing toward the Citadel, scoured by wind and sand, with burrowing Sandcarvers.

Benches and fast travel
84 benches, 12 Bellway stations and 7 Ventricas. Bellways open after you subdue the Bell Beast in The Marrow. Ventricas are the Citadel's own network and all route through Terminus.

About this Silksong map
This Silksong map is a full interactive map of Pharloom, the kingdom Hornet climbs in Hollow Knight: Silksong. It joins every area into one zoomable image and pins 636 verified locations on top of it: benches, bosses, Bellways, Mask Shards, Spool Fragments, Lost Fleas, tools, crests, keys, NPCs and more. It runs in the browser on desktop and on a phone, there is no account to create, and your progress is saved on your own device.
Players usually search for a Hollow Knight Silksong map for one of two reasons. Either the in-game map is still blank because they have not met the map seller yet, or they are cleaning up for 100% and need to know where the last flea or Mask Shard is hiding. This page handles both. The map at the top answers "where is it", and the guides linked below explain how the in-game map works and where to buy each piece of it.
How to use the interactive Silksong map
- Zoom and drag. Scroll or pinch to zoom. Markers appear once you are close enough to tell rooms apart.
- Filter by marker type. Open Filters and untick what you do not need. Looking only for benches or only for bosses takes two clicks.
- Search by name. Type a boss, tool or NPC name in the search box and only the matching markers stay on the map.
- Track your progress. Click a marker and tick "Collected". Then switch to "Only remaining" to hide everything you already have.
- Show names. The Names button prints a label next to every marker when you are zoomed in.
- Add your own pins. Drop a pin on a locked door or a ledge you cannot reach yet, the same way shell markers work in the game.
- Back up. Export saves your progress to a JSON file. Import restores it on another device.
Silksong map locations: what is marked
The map currently shows 83 benches, 12 Bellway stations, 7 Ventricas, 51 boss arenas, 18 Mask Shards, 17 Spool Fragments, 3 Silk Hearts, 23 Memory Lockets, 44 tools, 13 crests, 17 skills and abilities, 10 keys and locked doors, 37 wishes, 65 NPCs and 20 sellers. Shakra's camps and every map pickup have their own marker type, so you can see at a glance where the next area map comes from.
Flea locations are among the most requested Silksong map locations. The game has 30 Lost Fleas and all 30 of them are pinned here. Untick everything except Lost Flea and the map turns into a flea checklist you can work through area by area. The flea locations page lists them by area and explains how to get the in-game flea map from Vog.
A marker only goes on the map when its position has been checked against a second source. Anything that could not be placed with confidence is left off rather than guessed, and the few markers that are accurate to about one room say so in their popup. How positions are sourced is explained on the about page.
Shakra, the Silksong map lady
The Silksong map lady is Shakra, a cartographer who camps in most regions of Outer Pharloom and sings while she waits, so you usually hear her before you see her. She is the main Silksong map seller. Her first camp is in the north-west of The Marrow, where she sells the Mosslands Map for 40 Rosaries and The Marrow Map for 50. Buy the Quill (50 Rosaries) at the same time, because without it the map never fills in. The Compass (70 Rosaries) shows your position, but only while it is equipped.
From then on Shakra stays roughly one area ahead of you. If you skip a map, strike the bell in Bone Bottom and she comes back to sell it. Inside the Citadel, map machines take over her job. The Shakra locations page lists every camp with prices, and how to get the map walks through the Quill, Compass and pins.
Area maps players look for most
- Greymoor map: 70 Rosaries from Shakra's tent west of Craw Lake. It also covers Wisp Thicket.
- Hunter's March map: 70 Rosaries, Shakra on the east side of the area.
- Sinner's Road map: 90 Rosaries, near the bench on the north-west side.
- Bilewater map: 90 Rosaries, in a small room north-east of the Bellway.
- Sands of Karak map: 90 Rosaries, Shakra's camp in the western chamber.
- Mount Fay map: 40 Rosaries, near the lowest bench on the mountain.
- The Slab map: free, on a bug corpse in a central cell.
- Underworks map: free, pinned to a wall in the western chamber.
- Putrified Ducts map: free, on a table in the western room.
- The Mist map: there is none. The Mist is a randomised maze. Play the Needolin near the Silk Flies to learn the correct exit.
Each of the 32 area pages lists that area's benches, bosses, items, NPCs and exits, along with where its map is sold.
Is this the complete Silksong map?
The map image is the full Silksong map: all of Pharloom across the three acts, from The Abyss at the bottom to The Cradle at the top, including late areas such as Verdania and Red Memory. If you want to avoid spoilers, stay zoomed in on the region you are playing and keep the boss filter off.
The marker set is close to complete but is still growing. Locations are verified against Patch 5, and every batch of new markers is recorded in the changelog. If a pin is wrong or missing, tell us and it gets fixed.
Reading the in-game map
Silksong's own map is deliberately stingy. It only draws rooms you have walked through, it only updates when you rest at a bench with the Quill, and it shows benches, Bellways, Ventricas and vendors only after you buy the matching pin from Shakra. An outline with an open side means an exit you have not used yet. The map icons guide explains every symbol, and the 100% checklist tracks maps, benches, bosses and collectibles area by area.
Silksong map FAQ
How do I get the map in Silksong?
Leave Bone Bottom heading east into The Marrow and listen for singing. That is Shakra the cartographer. Buy the area map from her (40 to 90 Rosaries each) plus the Quill (50 Rosaries), without which the map never fills in. Repeat in every new region. Inside the Citadel, buy maps from map machines instead.
Is there an interactive Silksong map?
Yes. The interactive Silksong map on the home page of this site shows the full map of Pharloom with filters for benches, bosses, Bellways, Mask Shards, Spool Fragments, Lost Fleas, tools, keys and NPCs. You can zoom, search for a location by name, tick off what you have collected and export your progress. It is free and needs no login.
Where do I find the map lady in Silksong?
The map lady is Shakra, the cartographer and the main Silksong map seller. Find her first in the north-west of The Marrow, east of Bone Bottom. She sings at her camp, so follow the sound. After that she camps in most Outer Pharloom regions, one area ahead of you, selling each area map for 40 to 90 Rosaries plus the Quill, the Compass and the map pins. In the Citadel, map machines sell the maps instead.
How do I get the flea map in Silksong?
There is no flea map to buy from Shakra. The in-game way to find fleas is Vog, a flea hunter who first appears at the top of the Putrified Ducts, above the Bellway station. Pay him Rosaries and he marks the Lost Fleas you are still missing on your map. You reach the Putrified Ducts in Act 2, either with the Faydown Cloak from Mount Fay or through Bilewater after Groal the Great. Before that, use the Lost Flea filter on the interactive map on this site, which works as a flea map from the start of the game.
Where are the flea locations on the Silksong map?
Silksong has 30 Lost Fleas spread across Pharloom. On the interactive map, untick every marker type except Lost Flea to see only the flea locations, then tick each one off as you rescue it. Rescued fleas join the caravan, which ends up at Fleatopia in the Putrified Ducts.
Why is my map not filling in?
You need the Quill (50 Rosaries from Shakra, or free on Trobbio's desk in the Whispering Vaults). The map only redraws when you rest at a bench, so explore first, then sit down.
Is there a map for The Mist in Silksong?
No. You cannot get a map for The Mist: Shakra does not sell one and no map machine covers it. The Mist and Red Memory are the two areas with no map at all. The Mist is a deliberately unmappable maze whose rooms are randomised. Play the Needolin near the Silk Flies to learn which exit is correct; eight correct exits get you through.
How do I get The Slab map in Silksong?
The Slab map is free. It is not sold by Shakra or a map machine. Pick it up from a bug corpse in one of the central cells of the prison. As with every map, it only fills in when you rest at a bench with the Quill.
Where is the Bilewater map in Silksong?
Shakra sells the Bilewater Map for 90 Rosaries. Her camp is in a small room north-east of the Bilewater Bellway, on the side that connects to Sinner's Road. If you leave without it, strike the bell in Bone Bottom and she will sell it to you there.
How do I get The Abyss map in Silksong?
The Abyss map is free and comes from a Weaver rune-map device, not from Shakra. The device is above the bench in the lowest section of The Abyss. Activate it and the area is added to your map. You reach The Abyss in Act 3 by riding the Diving Bell down from Deep Docks.
Where is the Whispering Vaults map in Silksong?
The Whispering Vaults Map comes from a map machine in a hidden chamber at the top of the main shaft and costs 70 Rosaries. While you are in the Vaults, take the free Quill from Trobbio's desk if you never bought one.
Is this the complete Silksong map?
The map image covers all of Pharloom, every one of the 32 named areas across the three acts. Markers are only added once a position is verified against a second source, so a few collectibles are still being placed. The changelog lists every update.
